Herman Skelton, Jr., age 84, of Constantine, passed away Wednesday, July 10th, at Heartland Health Care Center, Three Rivers.
Herman was born in Constantine on January 23, 1935, a son of Herman and Sadie (Thorn) Skelton, Sr. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1954 and served in the Army National Guard.
On February 14, 1976, he married Ruby Lydia Bliss in Three Rivers. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1992.
Herman worked at Leland Engineering, White Pigeon, for 20 years, retiring in 1996. He raised ponies and participated in many parades. Herman enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Herman is survived by two sisters, Eleanor Pashby, Constantine, and Elizabeth Rentfrow, White Pigeon; brother Robert Skelton, Constantine, sister in law Caralene Skelton, Constantine, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters Frances Hoopingarner and Lillian Holderman, brothers William Skelton and Thomas Skelton, and half brothers Russell, Elwood and Joseph Skelton.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday, July 14th at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 15th at Eley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Poe Cemetery, Jones, MI.
