Phil Androsky, 80

Philip Martin Androsky, Jr., age 80, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Bowman House where he had resided the past three months. He was born in Moundsville, West Virginia on May 16, 1939 the son of Philip M. and Ann (Prah) Androsky. Phil graduated from Mendon High School with the Class of 1957 and played on the undefeated football team. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army. Phil worked at Continental Can Co. in Three Rivers before and after his military service. He worked at General Motors from 1980-95, and retired from American Axel in 2002.

Phil was a member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges of Three Rivers. He bowled in numerous men’s bowling leagues. He enjoyed playing cards, and delivering vehicles from the auto auction following his retirement. Phil was a fixture at Mendon Football games, where he was a member of the “Chain Gang” for 43 years.

Phil is survived by his wife, Noreen; two sons, Michael (Misty) Androsky of Three Rivers and Marc (Nicole) Androsky of Scotts; six grandchildren, Brandon, Kristyn, Dylan, Cooper, Austin, and Randy; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Adilyn, and Evelyn; sister in law, Gisela Androsky; nephew Robert; and niece Debra. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Androsky; and sister, Mary Dunlap.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, and where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm.

The funeral mass will be 11 am Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Military interment will follow in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial donations be directed to either St. Edward Catholic Church, to the Alzheimer’s Association, to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, or to Bowman House.
