Arthur Clayton Emrick JR, 61, Florence Township, Constantine, Michigan died on Monday, August 19, 2019, suddenly of natural causes.
He was born on March 2, 1958 in Vicksburg, Michigan, the son of Arthur Clayton and Ida Mae (Parsons) Emrick, SR.
Corky was a Constantine area resident since 1995 coming from Vicksburg. He was employed by the Sturgis Journal for over 20 years as a photographer, journalist and sports editor. He was a dispatcher and police cadet for Kalamazoo Township. He was involved with local fire departments, police and dive rescue. Corky was an avid fan and share holder of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed his dogs and cooking. His life revolved around covering kids and their sporting events. He was always for the underdog.
Corky married Susan Kay Walters on December 16, 1995 in Constantine, Michigan. She survives, with his parents Arthur C and Ida M Emrick, SR. Children: Arthur Clayton Emrick III, Tyler John Emrick, Emilee Brianne (Jeremy) Leech, Stepchildren: Amanda Walters, Nathan (Carolina) Walters, Matthew Walters and Mark (Kelly) Walters. 2 Grandchildren and 1 Step Grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday at The Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral Services for Corky will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2019 at The White Pigeon Schools Central Elementary Gymnasium on East Hotchin Ave., White Pigeon, MI. Cremation will follow the service. Donations may be directed to a school of choice athletic department. Envelopes will be available.
