AJ Smith, 73

Albert “AJ” Smith, age 73, of Constantine, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his home. He was born in Sturgis on July 11, 1946, a son of Theodore and Hulda (Besser) Smith.   AJ graduated from Constantine High School in 1966. On August 12, 1966, he married Sandra Smitley in Constantine. AJ owned AJ’s Mapleland Auto Parts of Three Rivers from 1996-2003. Additionally, he worked for Forest River Products in Middlebury and Smith Hardware in Constantine. He served on the Constantine Reserve Police Unit for 17 years and was a member of the Constantine Lions Club and Ham Radio Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and motorcycle hill climbing.

AJ is survived by his wife Sandra Smith of Constantine; children Brian Smith of White Pigeon, Terrie (Tracy) Anders of Three Rivers, Jodie (Rodney) Yoder of Albion, and Angie (Jeremy) Cook of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren Justin Wolkins, Kayla (Austin) Priddy, Christian Yoder, Nathan Yoder, Makenzie Yoder, Jeramy (Megan) Anders, Kassandra Anders, Brittany Bowen, Jeffery Blessing, and Natalie Cook; great grandchildren Kimber, Kaden, Brock, Wesley, Joseph, Brantley, Levi, Kylee, Keegan, and Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Smith.

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 13 from 3 to 6 PM at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine. A private interment service will be held at Constantine Township Cemetery.
