Leon Hackenberg, 76

Leon Gordon Hackenberg, age 76, of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at his home. He was born in Muskegon on September 27, 1943 the son of the late Leon William and Katheryn Mary (Davis) Hackenberg. Gordon served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and following began his career as a heavy-equipment operator for Clifton Engineering, Bloom and Meyers, Hackenberg Trucking, and before retiring was a supervisor for Subsurface Construction.
Gordon was a Life Member of the Three Rivers Eagles #2303 where he achieved “Golden Eagle” status and was also a member of the American Legion Post #170. He was a former member of the Howardsville Gospel Chapel and has recently attended the Flowerfield Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Hackenberg was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Hackenberg.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one loving daughter, Joyce Hackenberg, of Virginia Beach, VA.; one brother, Daniel (Beth) Hackenberg, of Bald Knob, AR.; one niece, Dana (Brad) Hackenberg-Burns and one nephew, Dustin (Ashley) Hackenberg; as well as one great-niece and two great-nephews.

A celebration of Leon Gordon Hackenberg’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd 2019 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Mullins officiating. Military Honors will be held immediately following services under the auspices of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170.
