It has taken me several weeks, but here are the final five suggestions that a man should share with his son when it comes to advice:
In all things lead by example, not explanation.
Vulnerability is okay and isn’t anything to be ashamed about.
It’s not a sign of weakness to speak up.
It’s okay for a man to cry.
Manners help make the man.
The First Church of God, 17398 M-86, in Three Rivers, will host a FREE spaghetti dinner this Saturday evening, March 21, from 5 until 7 PM. The church is located east of the Three Rivers American Legion on the north side of M-86. The spaghetti dinners are FREE, but I’m sure that any donation will be graciously appreciated.
Olives can be used in a variety of ways. They go great with salads, pizza, martinis, or right out of the bottle. Not everyone likes olives, but they do have some very redeeming qualities:
Help with weight loss.
Reduce pain.
Improves skin and hair health.
Helps to prevent cancer.
Aids the digestive tract.
A very good source of iron.
Improves eye health.
The one negative thing about olives is the fact that the first olive is usually the most difficult to get out of the bottle.
The Access to Healthcare task force met recently to discuss the 2020 Census and how to best reach out to those in our community at risk for being under-counted. Most don’t realize just how important this census is to St. Joseph County alone. Federal funding for many of the programs for the least fortunate is at stake if citizens don’t complete the census forms.
St. Joseph County has the reputation of being a “Hard-to-Count” county and the Access to Healthcare task force is busy coordinating efforts of the non-profits to help encourage a complete count of our county.
The 2020 Census is an easy way the people in our county can make a direct impact on the program funding that comes into our county. The effects of the census will last ten years with each person counted representing $20,000 coming into the county over the next ten years.
We all complain about the misuse of our tax dollars. This is a chance to make a difference and help keep your tax money right here in St. Joseph County. Do yourself and your neighbors a huge favor and complete your household’s 2020 Census at the following link: https://my2020census.gov/.
If you find someone who makes you smile, who checks up on you often to see if you’re okay, who watches out for you, don’t let them go. Keep them close and don’t take them for granted. People like that are hard to find.
