Thanks to author Randy Pausch, I’d like to share a few suggestions that might make your busy life a little less stressful:
“Ask yourself: are you spending your time on the right things?”
“Develop a good filing system.”
“Rethink the telephone.”
“Delegate.”
“Take a time out.”
Thanks to the never-ending changes in the weather here in “Pure Michigan”, it’s not uncommon to see motorcyclists and bicyclists out and about. Please be ever-watchful as you’re out in your two-ton vehicle. A good biker is always watching for those drivers who don’t always notice them near a busy intersection. A reminder to those on bicycles, you are expected to obey all traffic signs if you’re riding in the street. Age does not make a difference. Hopefully, all parents will spend a few minutes reminding their children of this.
Believe it or not, the English language is one of the most difficult to understand. If you have doubts about this, try explaining the following to someone trying to understand our language:
Why are the states Kansas and Arkansas pronounced differently?
Why are the names Zoey and Zoe pronounced the same, but Joey and Joe aren’t?
Why can you drink a drink, but you can’t food a food?
(Thank you Doug for bringing these to my attention)
With all the attention being given to the Corona Virus, I’m wondering why we all must be reminded to wash our hands more often. I am a huge fan of shaking hands, so perhaps I should consider washing my hands more frequently. To dispel a recent rumor, it’s okay to drink Corona beer. Just wash your hands before and after consumption.
Happiness is not about getting all you want, it’s about enjoying all you have.
I have lived and worked in Illinois, Colorado and Nevada. I was raised right here in Three Rivers and have always considered Three Rivers my true hometown. Like all states, Michigan does have its problems, but I’ve found the people here to be the most friendly and hospitable. We have friends who have their homes in Indiana and Illinois, but to relieve the stress and relax, they spend as much time as they can here. I know this is true, because every summer, you don’t have to go far to see out-of-state license plates. This is especially true around the many lake areas.
Michigan includes 56,954 square miles of land area; 1194 square miles of inland waters; and 38,575 square miles of Great Lakes water area. I can’t understand why anyone would want to travel internationally when there is so much to see and do right here in St. Joe County and the entire state of Pure Michigan. Spring officially began last Friday, so get yourself out and about and explore this great state.
Singing daily for at least ten minutes reduces stress, clears sinuses, improves posture, and can even help you live longer.
See you Out and About!
