Home invasion – Two arrested

Two people were arrested following a home-invasion incident in Florence Township.

State police troopers were called Monday afternoon to a residence on Lutz Road regarding a home invasion in progress.

Authorities said the homeowners came home during the incident and one of the two suspects was in a car parked in the driveway. The person drove from the scene but was eventually pulled over by troopers, who found a number of stolen items inside the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the homeowners discovered a different suspect remained inside the residence.

The suspect fled the house and entered an adjacent pole barn, from which he left the scene in a Ford Ranger. Authorities followed and after a five-mile chase, the truck struck a tree near the intersection of Lutz and Mintdale roads.

The driver was charged with home invasion, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing and eluding police, and possession of methamphetamines, according to authorities.
