Roeberta Lee (Barnes) Shingledecker, age 90, of Three Rivers, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
She was born on April 20, 1930 in Three Rivers to George Lee and Mattie Mae (McCreary) Barnes. Roeberta graduated from Three Rivers High School and married Robert Edward Shingledecker on October 15, 1949.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Stephen Shingledecker.
She is survived by her daughters, Mona (Roy) Miller of Rensselaer, Indiana and Trudy (Frank) Herkenroder of Elkhart, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Karen Shingledecker of Warsaw, Indiana; grandchildren, Shawn (Patrick) Toole, Amy Steiner, Michael (Sarah) Shingledecker, Rebecca (Matthew) Philpott, and Allie Herkenroder; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Roeberta was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Michigan Genealogical Society, and the Red Hat Society. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years and an avid seamstress. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Mishael Beadle, the first settler of Flowerfield Township, Michigan.
Services will be held at Billings Funeral Home located at 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, Indiana on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 4 PM with memorial services at 4 PM.
Interment will take place at Lower Flatbush Cemetery, Three Rivers.
In lieu of memorials, Roeberta’s wish was for others to pay a visit to those who are elderly and alone.
