Barbara Joan Lawson, age 88, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on December 15, 1931 in Three Rivers, the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Burrow) Watkins.
Barb has been a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Barb worked in the equalization department of the St. Joseph County Courthouse for 34 years. Barb was a life-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 210 where she served as secretary for 31 years and for the Worthy Grand Matron for one year during her tenure. Barb loved to sing in the Kalamazoo chapter of the Sweet Adelines. Barb truly loved her family and spending time with them and countless friends.
Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband Millard and one brother and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, three children, Julie Lawson, Douglas (Gwen) Lawson, and Sandra (Patrick) Bucher; six beloved grandchildren, Ruth (Kevin) Roberts, Patrick Bucher Jr., Sandra Lago, Elijah (Candace) Lawson, Christopher (Candy) Lawson, Ryan (Erin) Bucher. Fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Main St., Three Rivers, MI 49093 with Pastor Heather McDougall officiating.
Memorials may be donated to the First United Methodist Church or the Order of the Eastern Star. Envelopes available at the church.

I remember your mom and dad visiting Mr. Kerr’s house when we were all children. What a wonderful woman your mom was, I wish they could live forever.
