Lynna Hassenger, 67

Lynna Hassenger passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. She was born on April 4, 1953 in Columbus, Indiana to Gerald and Alma (Van Est) Perry.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Hassenger, children Brad (Shannon) Stahley, Eric (Amanda) Stahley, grandchildren Alizabeth, Alexandria, Carter, Alivia, Avery and Mahlyn; step-children Ed (Gail) Hassenger, Doug Hassenger, Sue (Joe) Keefe, step-grandchildren Betsey, Christian, Alex, Matthew; brothers Jerald (Linda) Perry of Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Van (Susan) Perry of San Antonio, TX and Roger (Marget) Perry of Columbus, IN.

She was preceded in passing by her parents Gerald and Alma Perry.

Lynna graduated from Columbus North High School in the Class of 1971. She went on to Spring Arbor University and graduated in 1992. She received her Associate Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Purdue University and then obtained her Master’s Degree at Kennedy Western University in 2000.

Lynna was full of life and lived through her children and grandchildren. She was the President/CEO of Nutrition Services Inc, Food Service Management and Consulting Services from 1990 to 2000. She was the Director of Food Service at Okemos Public School and management services for Haslett Public and Williamston Community Schools. In addition to providing food service to several public-school academies and private schools over the course of her robust career. She was a certified instructor training schools across the State through ServSafe. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, spending time up north on the lake, and most of all enjoying her grandchildren. She was always helping, leading, teaching and coaching.

The family invites friends and colleagues to join them for a visitation on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hampton Funeral Home in Jackson (4204 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49202). Current regulations require masks or facial coverings inside. Private family services will take place on Saturday in Jackson. The family will then receive friends for visitation on Saturday, October 17th at the Eley Funeral Home (280 S. Washington Street, Constantine, MI 49042) from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. followed by interment at the Constantine Township Cemetery.
