Mendon schools moves to remote learning

Mendon Community Schools Superintendent Leasa Griffith announced Wednesday that the district is now fully remote.

Griffith said the district on Tuesday reported multiple students, staff and families were forced into quarantine due to contact tracing.

Students in both Mendon Elementary and the middle/high school will be learning remotely, with a tentative return date of Nov. 30.

Griffith said the decision was not made lightly, as the district realizes the impact students and teacher not meeting face-to-face has on families and students.

She said Remote-Learning Fridays have helped prepare Mendon’s teachers and students for the change. Griffith added that district officials are grateful for the hard work put in by students and their families.

At this time, athletic practices are allowed for teams not affected by quarantine.
