Barry James Delarye, 65, of Gwinn, died Monday morning at his home in Gwinn.
He was born Aug. 29, 1944, in Negaunee, a son of the late J. Nelson and Alice Delarye and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 13, 1988 he married the former Linda Culliton.
Barry worked as a miner for CCI and most recently was employed in housekeeping with the Ojibwa Casino prior to his retirement due to illness.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing his guitar.
Barry is survived by his wife, Linda Delarye, of Gwinn; children Lauri Miller of Edwardsburg, John (Melissa) Delarye of Sturgis, Jim (Michelle) Delarye of White Pigeon, Joseph Ellis of Negaunee; Tanya (Craig) Hanninen of Gwinn and Michelle (Tom) Verboczki of Gwinn; grandchildren Sarah, Taylor, Jarad, Logan, Courtney, Ashley, Preston, Jamie Lynn, Montana, Kaytlinn, Sierra, Savanah, Hunter, Kaiylah, Kyle, Michel and Jordon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Dylan Delarye.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
