Patrick Long, age 71, of Ypsilanti, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville, Ind.
He was born July 3, 1949, in Sturgis, to Clarence Long and Mary (Urbanc) Long.
Patrick was a 1967 graduate of Sturgis High School. He went on to receive his Associate of Technology degree in 1970 from Glen Oaks Community College.
On July 25, 1970, he married Kay Marie Kasdorf in Sturgis. She passed away Nov. 30, 1985.
Patrick was a master automobile mechanic for several companies.
His love and passion in life was being a master auto mechanic. He also enjoyed playing soccer, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting and photography.
Surviving are a daughter, Marci Drolett of Auburn, Ind.; four brothers, Mike Long of Ann Arbor, Mo Long of Farmington Hills, Tom Long of Florida and Jerome Long of North Carolina; a niece, Julia Long of Trinidad, Calif.; and a nephew, Charles Long of Bloomfield Hills.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Clarence and Josephine Long; and his mother, Mary Long.
Services will be held at a later date.
