A proposal to change the day and time of St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners’ executive committee meetings remains in a holding pattern for at least another week.
The matter was raised during the board’s meeting Tuesday.
The five-member board broached the issue last week after commissioner Jared Hoffmaster said he has a work-related conflict with the second executive committee of the month.
Executive committee meetings are at 8 a.m. the Wednesday before a board meeting. The sessions are a casual forum for commissioners to discuss in detail impending business, and determine what items appear on the agenda for the subsequent board meeting.
A number of alternative days and times were discussed Tuesday. In the end, however, Hoffmaster agreed to investigate whether his standing, work-related commitment could be moved to a different time instead.
He is expected to report back to commissioners at their executive committee meeting next week.
