Steven A. Gould, age 60, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Medilodge of Marshall in Marshall, Michigan.
He was born November 29, 1960 in Sturgis, son of the late Arthur and Elna (VonOlnhausen) Gould.
Steve resided in the Burr Oak area most of his life and was a member of the Burr Oak High School Class or 1979.
He had been employed for many years by the Sturgis Foundry until the closing of the company.
Steve was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard for over 20 years. While in the guard he served as a member of the security detail at the Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Steve was an avid trapper and enjoyed hunting and will forever be remembered for his free spirit.
He is survived by one son: Cory Gould of Wolcottville, Indiana; four grandchildren: Sonny, Kate, Harlee and Natasha Gould; one sister: Shelley (Todd) Yesh of Burr Oak; three brothers: Rick (Mary) Gould and Guy Gould both of Sturgis and Jeff (Teri) Gould of Burr Oak and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Jennifer Summey and sister-in-law: Laura Gould.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at a later date to be announced. Full military honors will be conferred by the Fort Custer and U.S. Army Honor Guards.
