Katie Ann Miller, age 89, of Centreville, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at her home. Katie was born in Nappanee, Indiana on June 1, 1931, a daughter of Jacob and Lizzie (Borkholder) Borkholder. She attended school at Locke Center and Locke Schools in Indiana.
Katie previously worked for Wise Lunch in Sturgis. On June 9, 1956, she married Edward Miller in Three Rivers; he preceded her in death after 61 years of married on October 14, 2017. Together, they owned and operated the E&K Restaurant for 22 years, and also Eddie’s Hideaway Campground, both in Centreville. Katie was a member of Wasepi Chapel and Gideon’s International. She loved quilting, gardening, and cooking, especially preparing meals for funeral dinners.
Surviving are her children Carol (Randy) Rice of Sturgis, Doyle (Rhonda) Miller of Centreville, and Dean (Darla) Miller of Sturgis; grandchildren Caleb (Natasha) Miller, Harmony Miller, Sherese Miller, Katelyn (Mack) Raynor, Gabriel Miller, Anthony Rice, and Christopher (Laura) Rice; great grandchildren Noah Miller, Maddy Rice, and Owen Rice; and siblings Dan (Coke) Borkholder and Emma Borkholder-Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Christian Charity, and siblings Martha Miller, Mary Miller, Annie Miller, Lovina Miller, Liz Katalinich, and Lloyd Borkholder
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM at Firm Foundations Ministries (651 E. Main St., Centreville, MI 49032). Religious services will be held at the church on Thursday at 11AM with Pastors Randy Miller and Tom Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Nottawa Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to Gideon’s International.
