Several minor issues were resolved during Tuesday’s county commission meeting.
Two people were re-appointed to the Veteran’s Affairs Board: Park Township resident William Thompson and Bill Walters of Nottawa Township. Their terms are for a four-year period.
Also, commissioners agreed to dedicate funds it received through the recent sale of the Covered Bridge Healthcare building into the county’s capital-improvement fund.
The $137,900 was automatically put into the general fund, but the transfer to capital-improvement fund for future projects was requested by finance director Angie Steinman.
Commissioner Kathy Pangle provided an update on Project Connect. She said the 2021 is scheduled to take place Aug. 3 at the county fairgrounds. Pangle said its organizers are still figuring how exactly to offer the event, even considering a drive-thru option.
Commissioner Jared Hoffmaster said a ceremonial grand opening for Armstrong Park will take place at 9 a.m. April 24.
Also Tuesday, commissioners heard and approved the Veterans’ Affairs annual report, presented by its director, Stoney Summey.
