Carolyn Ball, 79

Carolyn L. Ball, age 79, of Centreville, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Carolyn was born in Detroit on May 27, 1941, a daughter of John and Mae (Manisto) Ball.  She graduated from High School in Detroit and went on to study nurse’s aid training and chaplaincy.  She worked as a nurse’s aid in multiple nursing homes and hospitals and also as a hospital chaplain when she lived in Arizona.

Carolyn was a member of the Centreville Baptist Church.  She enjoyed donating to multiple charities over the years.  She loved music and singing, and was a very talented baker, especially known for her meat pies. Previously, she was also a semi-pro roller skater.

She is survived by her sons Don Mahalko in Centreville and Ron (Sheila) Mahalko in Goshen.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jack Ball.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 21 at 1:00 PM at Centreville Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Peterson officiating.  Interment of ashes will follow at Prairie River Cemetery.
