Pat Lang, 90

Patricia J. Lang, age 90, of Sturgis, passed away early Monday morning, May 3, 2021 at her home.
She was born November 10, 1930 in Defiance, Ohio daughter of the late Fred and Rose (Wilhelm) Mack.
Mrs. Lang resided in Sturgis since 1961 coming from Defiance.
On May 9, 1952 she married Donald E. Lang in Defiance. He preceded her in death April 2, 2008.
Pat was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, where she earned a diploma as a Registered Nurse.
She retired in 1989 from Sturgis Public Schools following 19 years of dedicated employment. Prior to joining the school system she worked as a Registered Nurse and Night House Supervisor at Sturgis Hospital from 1965 to 1971. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society. She also held memberships in the Mercy Alumni, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Michigan Education Association, National Education Association and volunteered as a Red Cross nurse. She enjoyed quilting, water sports, reading, traveling, and many will miss her cooking and baking. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love for her family, the positive influence she had over her students, and her strong faith.
She is survived by four sons: Frederic (Kim) Lang of Clarkston, Timothy (Debbie) Lang of Overland Park, Kansas, Thomas (Deb) Lang of Centreville, and Tony (Gina) Lang of Marshall; four grandsons: Kyle Lang, Paul (Joslyn) Lang, Matthew (Jamie) Lang, and Mark Lang; one granddaughter: Tarah Lang; three great-grandchildren: Caitlin Lang, Jacob Lang, and Cooper Lang; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Lang; grandson, Kevin Lang; faithful and loving dachshund, Angel; four sisters: Rosemary Mack, Rita Negley, Dorothy Bachellor, and Kathleen Coffman and two brothers: Fred Mack and Richard Mack.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 402 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed together at 7:30 P.M. Thursday. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Patricia J. Lang will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Andrew Raczkowski celebrant. A graveside committal will follow the Mass at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
