Sandra J. Cooper, age 79, of Sturgis,passed away early Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021 at her home.
She was born March 26, 1942 in Toledo, daughter of the late Charles A. and Myrtle C. (Branson) Ogren.
Sandy resided in Sturgis for the past 25 years coming from Toledo, where she was a graduate of Rogers High School.
Most of Sandy’s working life was as a church secretary. She retired in 2018 from the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis following over 20 years of dedicated service. She also worked several years at the First Presbyterian Church in Maumee, Ohio and a few years at L.T.I. Printing in Sturgis.
She enjoyed crocheting and truly loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived her three daughters: Kristi (Richard) Jackson of White Pigeon, Kim Amrhein of Sturgis and Karis Eicher of Sturgis; her best friend and companion: James Cooper of Sturgis; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers: Clayton (Shirley) Ogren of North Carolina and Chuck (Sharon) Ogren of Toledo, Ohio; her dog: Abby and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Kevin K. Cooper.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services celebrating and honoring Sandy’s life will be held at a later date.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
