Flowerfield crash injures Three Rivers man

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a single-vehicle accident that seriously injured a Three Rivers man last week in Flowerfield Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies were called around 11 a.m. Friday to Johnson Road, near Pulver Road, in response to a vehicle that had gone off the roadway.

Lillywhite said the car was traveling southbound on Johnson Road before entering a blind curve. The vehicle entered the northbound lane and swerved to avoid a delivery truck parked partially in the northbound lane.

The vehicle then went off the west side of the road, spun sideways and struck a tree, which split the vehicle in half.

The 34-year-old driver was flown from the scene by Aircare for treatment of serious injuries. Investigators said the incident will be reviewed for possible charges when the crash investigation has concluded.
