Marv Schwartz, 72

Marvin J. Schwartz, age 72, of Sturgis, passed away early Monday morning, June 21, 2021 at his home.
He was born May 15, 1949 in Sturgis, son of the late John P. and Katie (Wickey) Schwartz.
Marv was a lifelong Sturgis resident.
On January 22, 1972 he married Gerri Eichorn at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Burr Oak.
Most of Marv’s working life was involved in the sale of farm machinery.
He was a member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church. Marv was blessed with musical talent. He enjoyed traveling and singing with the Gospel Echoes Prison Ministry and singing with his siblings and relative in the Swartz Brothers.
He is survived by his wife: Gerri; two daughters: Cheryl (Robert) Davis of Auburn, Indiana and Laura (Jeremy) Shue of Goshen; one son: Matthew (Mindy) Schwartz of Harrisonburg, Virginia; nine grandchildren; two sisters: Esther Mast of Mendon and Ony Keely of Sturgis; two brothers: Fred (Marilyn) Schwartz of Sturgis and John (Jan) Schwartz of Shipshewana, Indiana; sister-in-law: Sandra Schwartz; brother-in-law: Harry Troyer and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Josephine Troyer and one brother: Merlin Schwartz.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday and 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. Saturday at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 29525 Findley Rd, Burr Oak, MI 49030 where funeral services celebrating the life of Marvin J. Schwartz will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday. Pastors Ross Weber and Matthew Yoder will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Burr Oak.
