Mary Lee (Robbins) Hackenberg, age 80, of Colon, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 in Colon from an extended illness from congestive heart failure.
Mary was born May 18, 1941 in Three Rivers, a daughter to the late Samuel and Marieta (Murphy) Robbins.
Mary lived most all of her life in Colon, graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1958.
She married Darwin Woodman which later ended in divorce.
Mary had worked for the former Kirsch Company in Sturgis retiring in 2001, she had also worked at Maxitrol and the former Magic Carpet Restaurant, both in Colon. She had also attended the Colon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura (Steven) Soule of Sturgis, Sharon Woodman of Colon and Julie (Woodman) Webb of Colon, significant other Wendell Kline of Leonidas, who was the joy of her heart and soul who cared for her with compassion and grace, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, two sisters, Debra (Dennis) Reed Bietz of Georgia and Anne (Tony) Dudley of Colon, brother Roger Robbins of Union City and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Carla (Joe) Bogucki, twin granddaughters and a grandson.
There will be a graveside service held at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 beginning at 6:30 PM with Rev. Rodger Moyer and Rev. David J. Farrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Operation Smiles, or a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be left for the family at Schipperfuneralhome.com.
