Mark Kolodziej, 63

Mark’s gone fishin’.

He took his final trip on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 after 63 years and not feeling well for a bit. He and his Bonnie or Lu (Mesman) as Mark lovingly called her, showed up at Three Rivers several years ago and made it a home.  Bonnie will hang around and tend her yard and the fish.  Mark and Bonnie brought two little fishermen into the world, Matthew of Highland, Indiana, and Alan who preceded Mark to the fishing hole.  Mark also shared his love of fishing with granddaughter, Rylie, his “chick”.  She was the joy of his life.  Mark’s sister, Margie O’Brian (Rob), of Joplin, Missouri, niece, Toni, of Tallahassee, Florida,  and brother Mike (Sandra), of Hammond, Indiana, are also still hanging around.  There’s a bunch of nieces and nephews too along with many friends.

Before Mark got to retire and be a full-time fisherman, he and Bonnie resided in Highland, Indiana, for many years and Mark worked at Cox Enterprises Greater Chicago Auto Auction.  He put in his papers there 3 1/2 years ago cause he said it was just time to get the pontoon out and do his part to keep the fish population down.

Before that, he graduated from Highland High School, Class of 1976.  He then attended Ivy Tech so he could work on cars and earn some dollars for the weekend.

Mark loved fishing and the life he had built.  We loved Mark.  Now we just hope the fish are biting.
