A Battle Creek man was injured after the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and crashed into a tree in Cass County’s Penn Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called shortly before 6 a.m. Friday to Decatur Road, north of Shurte Street.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the vehicle off the roadway. The driver, 20-year-old Wyatt Steven Webb, told authorities he fell asleep while driving.
Webb was treated at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
