A stretch of roadway closed the past two months in White Pigeon Township is re-opening.
St. Joseph County Road Commission Manager John Lindsey said a 20-foot-bridge on Klinger Lake Road is set to officially re-open any day. For now, there are a few minor details to address and he is aware motorists are driving around a barricade in place until the final aspects of the job are wrapped up.
The $415,000 project started in mid-September and centers on replacing a bridge that straddles Sherman Mill Creek, which flows into Klinger Lake.
Lindsey said replacement was necessary due to the limited weight the previous bridge could support, in addition to its age.
