Armstrong Park in Three Rivers has nearly two dozen new trees along its walkways thanks to the efforts of the Three Rivers Rotary Club.
Rotary Club member Jared Hoffmaster, who was instrumental in development of Armstrong Park, said the addition positively changes the look of the park.
Hoffmaster is vice president of the River Country Sports Commission, a non-profit that oversees Armstrong Park’s operations and maintenance.
The club’s contribution, plus a matching grant from Rotary District 6360, provided $5,000 toward the purchase of 23, 10-foot trees: pear, red maple and sugar maple.
Nearly a dozen club members and friends planted the trees last month.
Citizens like Hoffmaster have helped transform a derelict field into a community hub. Thanks for adding trees!
