The River Country Recreation Authority has announced the completion of the Meyer Broadway Park Trail, connecting Three Rivers HealthTRAC with Meyer Broadway County Park.
An opening celebration will be held in Spring 2022, but the trail is open for use.
The trail is the culmination of years of effort that ultimately led to the formation of an authority, which required a minimum of two municipalities working together; this was accomplished through the City of Three Rivers and Fabius Township.
A major fundraising effort was started with the help of the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation. The effort resulted in major grant funds from J.A. Woollam Foundation, the DNR Trust Fund Grant and Michigan Department of Transportation. Additional funding came from St. Joseph County, the city of Three Rivers and many private contributions.
