St. Joseph County Administrator Teresa Doehring announced Tuesday tentative contract agreements have been reached with the county’s 10 different labor unions.
Doehring said with two exceptions, annual raises of 2 percent will be given in each of the next three years. Meanwhile, corrections officers will receive 3 percent raises annually over the next 36 months while the command group for the sheriff’s department road patrol unit will see raises of 3 percent next year, followed by 2 percent raises in each of the following two years of the three-year contract. The latter contract was based on a mediator’s recommendation.
The unions are: Circuit Court and Friend of the Court; Family Court employees; Probate Court employees; AFSCME general unit; St. Joseph County District Court Employees’ Association; Corrections Sergeants Division; Correction Officer Division; Command Officers Association of Michigan; and Police Officers Association of Michigan – Law Enforcement Division.
