Lou Hein, 95

Luella Blanche (Whitmill) Hein, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 24, 2021 at home.

Lou, as she was affectionately called, was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Temperance, Michigan, to Blanche (Teall) and Orin M. Whitmill.

After graduation in 1944, she met and married Herman H. Hein on July 14, 1945 in Washington, D.C. They were married for almost 65 years.

He preceded her in death in June of 2010.

Lou and Herman served the Lord for many years as pastor and Lou helping along side. They served many churches starting in Goshen, Indiana,  Troy, Ohio,  Kokomo, Indiana, and in Kenai, Alaska.

After retiring they moved to Yakima, Washington, and finally to Union, Michigan, on Baldwin Lake.

They were “Dun Movin.”

Lou loved to work in the flower beds, and cared and loved for her family

She was constantly busy working.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; foster son Arthur McCrum and his wife Alice; four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by daughters Linda Clements and Beverly Welborn; son Raymond Hein; one brother, Eugene, 93, of Alaska; and nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are by Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon.

A celebration of life will be at the Mottville Bible Church in Mottville at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30. Visitation at the church will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
