TR Schools – Virtual learning in some buildings

Three Rivers Community Schools interim superintendent Nikki Nash said three of the district’s six schools will switch from in-person learning to a virtual format starting today and lasting through next week.

Students at the district’s high school, middle school and Hoppin Elementary will return to in-person learning Jan. 31.

Nash said the district in the past few weeks has seen an uptick in school absences, resulting in low attendance numbers due to COVID-19 and other seasonal illnesses.

Nash, in a note to parents, said more information regarding the transition was to come from principals and teachers.

By state law, pupil accounting requires schools to have a 75 percent attendance rate to count the school day.  If this does not happen there may be a possibility these days would be rescheduled in June.

Extra-curricular activities will continue.
