A Coldwater man won a substantial prize recently in a Michigan Lottery draw game.
Richard Morrill, 62, won $25,000 annually for life playing the Michigan Lottery’s “Lucky For Life” game.
According to lottery officials, Morrill purchased a $2 ticket Dec. 16 and matched all five white balls to win the prize. Morrill said he purchased the ticket at Super Liquor II on West Chicago Street in Coldwater.
Morrill said he initially thought he matched four of the five numbers, but returned to the point of purchase the next day, where his good fortune was confirmed.
Morrill opted to collect a $390,000 lump-sum payment rather than $25,000 a year for life. He indicated to lottery officials he plans to purchase a new car and help his family.
