New coronavirus cases leaped in Michigan in the week ending March 20, rising 11.6 percent, as more than 6,600 cases were reported.
The previous week had nearly 6,000 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
St. Joseph County reported 19 cases and one death in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 24 cases and five deaths. Throughout the pandemic, it has confirmed 13,635 cases and 205 deaths.
The largest number of weekly cases per-capita were in Menominee, Wayne and Macomb counties.
