Applications sought for Sturgis City Commission

Sturgis City Commission is seeking applications to fill the seat recently vacated by Karl Littman.

The seat is for the 4th Precinct, which covers the boundary of Sturgis north of East Chicago Road and east of North Prospect Street.

To qualify for consideration, prospective applicants must be a registered voter in the 4th Precinct.

Correspondence with name, address, phone number, employer, employer address and employer phone must be submitted on or before April 7 to the city clerk’s office.

The applicant must provide a short essay expressing reasons for seeking appointment as commissioner. Supplemental documents and information also may include a resume, any special qualifications, references and any potential conflicts of interest in serving on the commission.

Littman stepped down after more than 20 years of service, citing health reasons. The seat will come up for election in November.
