Russell Dean Rowe, age 88, of Sturgis, passed away Monday morning, April 11, 2022 at Sturgis Hospital.
He was born January 13, 1934 at home in LaGrange County, Indiana.
Russel resided in Sturgis for the past 20 years coming from LaGrange, and he lived many years in Shipshewana.
He was a farmer who loved working on the family farm.
He was a member of the English Prairie Church in Howe, Indiana.
Russell was happiest when he was talking and socializing with friends and family. He enjoyed driving his little blue truck and he loved his cattle while on the farm and eating at Gramby’s Restaurant in Sturgis.
He is survived by two sisters: Phyllis Rowe and Betty Peters both of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: David D. Rowe; sister: Bonnie Lee and nephew: Chris Lee.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 15th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the English Prairie Cemetery, 4370 IN-3, Howe, IN. Chaplain Rodger Moyer of Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis will officiate.
