Centreville’s board of education interviewed four candidates for the its top position last week and in the end, two candidates – Chad Brady and Jerome Wolff – were selected as finalists.
The candidate pool also featured Jeremy Wright, Plainwell High School principal, and Barry Younghans, assistant superintendent of Goshen Community Schools.
Board president Jeff Troyer afterward said the district was fortunate to have such strong interest in the post, as more than 20 people applied.
Next up are final interviews. They will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at the high school.
Brady, 44, is in his fourth years as a CPS employee and became interim superintendent Feb. 1 following the resignation of Stephanie Lemmer. Brady had served as Centreville High School principal since 2018.
Wolff, 41, is a former teacher at Centreville Elementary. He has served as Nottawa’s superintendent since January 2017. He previously served as principal at St. John’s Lutheran School in Sturgis. Before that, he taught fourth grade in Centreville for a year, then three years as a kindergarten teacher, also in Centreville.
The new superintendent will begin July 1. The board has set the salary range of $110,000 to $125,000.
