Richard Lee Strong, age 76, of Sturgis, passed away Friday morning, April 22, 2022 at Dear Country AFC in Burr Oak.
He was born April 6, 1946 in Sturgis, son of the late Donald and Opal (Bloom) Strong.
Richard was a lifelong Sturgis area resident and enjoyed living at Big Fish Lake for many years.
On April 12, 1964 he married Barbara Grubb at the Howe Presbyterian Church.
He was employed as a manager at the Paramount Furniture Company for several years and had also worked a few years at Marty Hart’s Body Shop both in Sturgis.
He was a fan of old country music and loved swimming.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 58 years: Barbara; one son: Craig (Mary) Strong of Sturgis; one daughter: Jackie (Tim) Orban of Sturgis; four grandchildren: Rodger (Liz Pretty) Rynd, Ali (Corey) Greider, Michael Strong and Lauren (Dylan DeYoung) Orban; two great grandchildren: Carter Strong and Hudson Greider; one brother: Donald (Carol) Strong of Coco, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: LuAnn Campbell.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor the life of Richard Lee Strong will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 30th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.
