Barbara Joan Stauffer, age 88, of Centreville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Birch Meadows AFC in Three Rivers.
Barbara was born on December 20, 1933, in Centreville, a daughter to the late Peter and Barbara (Wickey) Schwartz.
On February 4, 1950, Barbara married Freeman “Sonny” Stauffer in Centreville. He would precede her in death in 2010.
Barbara worked for Maxitrol Co. in Colon for many years. She retired from service in 2000.
Barbara was a member of the Bridges Community Church in Centreville. She loved her Lord and Savior and her family dearly. She enjoyed early mornings reading her bible. Barbara loved people and had never met a stranger. She wasn’t ever seen without her bling and always was looking for more to add to her collection. Barbara also traveled with the Wasepi Bluegrass Gospel Singers for many years.
Surviving Barbara are her children: Gloria (Charles) Pomeroy of Centreville, Sherry (Lee) Carr of Nottawa and Russ (Melissa) Stauffer of Centreville, daughter in law Susan Stauffer of Centreville, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way, a sister Ruth Coblentz, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Peter and Barbara, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Freeman “Sonny” Stauffer, son Jack Stauffer, 2 brothers, 4 infant brothers, and 1 great grandchild.
The Stauffer family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM at the Bridges Community Church: 27570 Marvin Rd, Centreville, MI 49032. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 10 AM also at the Bridges Community Church. Interment will follow in Nottawa Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Bridges Community Church. Envelopes will be available at church.
