Bear Sutherland, 72

Harry Edward “Bear” Sutherland, age 72, of Constantine, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born February 22, 1950 in Boulder, Colorado a son of Norman and Eva (Mork) Sutherland. Bear attended school in Colorado and entered the workforce at an early age. His various jobs included carpentry and building, masonry, log house building, trail riding guide, lawn mowing, tourist town old west reenactments, farming and mining, all in Colorado and Wyoming. He then worked for the Colorado Highway department from 1979 until 1997. After moving to Michigan in 1999, Bear worked for Pigeon River Materials and Eugene Miller Farms. He later began mowing the Little League fields in Constantine.

In 1967 he married Gloria Jean Belge in Colorado. They were later divorced. Bear then married Linda Bell September 28, 1978 in Rock Springs, WY. She preceded him in death March 30, 2021.

He was a member of Faith Finders Church, Constantine where he was active in all aspects of the church.

Surviving are his brother Richard Sutherland, sister Shirley Ann, extended family, and his church family and friends. Bear was preceded in death by his parents and wife Linda Sutherland.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Saturday July 16, 2022, from 10 am to 11:00 am at Faith Finders Church, 229 W. 2nd St, Constantine, MI. A Memorial service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Rita Austin officiating. Interment of Ashes will be in Constantine Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Faith Finders Church.
