Donnie Shipe, 54

Donald R. Shipe, age 54, of Logansport, Indiana and a former resident of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo.
He was born July 4, 1968 in in Jackson, son of the late Richard Rex and Mary (Gundrum) Shipe, Sr.
Donnie resided in Logansport since 1982, coming from Sturgis.
Most of Donnie’s working life was in the construction industry.
He attended the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene and graduated from Logansport High School. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
He is survived by his fiancée: Sue Oberlander-Smith who he planned to marry July 30, 2022; two sisters: Deborah (Sam) Armey and Carol (Michael) Carpenter both of Sturgis; two brothers: Richard (Kathy) Shipe of Sturgis and Dave (Debra) Shipe of Bronson; step-brother: Paul (Cinda) Holley, Jr. of Young America, Indiana; step-sister: Patricia Rust of Grant, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the remains will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 6th, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
