Bob Gallup, 93

Robert Bruce Gallup, age 93, of Sturgis, passed away early Sunday morning July 31, 2022 at his home.
He was born December 11, 1928 in Coldwater, son of the late Willard Bruce and Margaret A. (Whaley) Gallup.
Bob resided in Sturgis most of his life. From 1962 to 1988 his job with Ross Laboratories took him to Columbus, Ohio and Mitchell, South Dakota. Following his retirement he and Jean returned to Sturgis.
On February 11, 1949 he married Jean Holsinger at the Sturgis Wesleyan Church by The Rev. Forrest Gearhart, Bob’s brother-in-law.
Bob retired in 1988 from Ross Laboratories, now known as Abbot Laboratories, following 47 years of dedicated employment.
He was a charter member of the Sturgis Wesleyan Church today known as Radiant Life Church.
Bob was a talented woodworker and woodcarver and enjoyed traveling. He had a love for the game of golf and had achieved two holes in one.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 73 years: Jean; three daughters: Stephanie Mondello of Huntley, Illinois, Luralee Poulsen of Sturgis and Shari-Beth (Bruce) Goldman of Southfield; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; expecting his first great grandchild any day; sister: Jane (Merton) Wolcott of Grand Rapids and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Pastor Bruce Gallup, son-in-law: John Poulsen and granddaughter: Sarah Mondello.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 7th at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Robert Bruce Gallup will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 P.M. Bob’s nephew, Pastor Joel Gearhart will officiate. Private burial of the remains will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
