Abbie Scarpella, 79

Abbigale Ruth (Pridgeon) Scarpella, age 79, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 after a short illness, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
She was born May 23, 1943 in Sturgis, a daughter to the late Ernest and Josephine Pridgeon.
Abbie graduated from Lima Brighton High School in Howe, Indiana with the class of 1962.
On Oct. 24, 1965 in Howe, she married Anthony (Tony) Scarpella and they were married for 52 years before he passed away on Oct. 19, 2015.
She retired from Sturgis Molded Products in 2016 after 23 years of employment.
Abbie’s life, love, and happiness was found thru her love for her husband, her dogs, and her never ending flower garden as well as family.
She is survived by special friends: Lucky Hutchison of Bronson, and Lou & Shirley Johnson of Coldwater; a brother: Robert E. Pridgeon of Howe; 2 sisters: Sylvia M. (Pridgeon) Couch of Howe, and Mary Lou (Pridgeon) Zeeb of Sturgis; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers: Dr. James Pridgeon and Paul R. Pridgeon, and one sister: Nancy A. (Pridgeon) Thomas.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
The family suggest memorial donations in her memory be directed to the Animal Aid of Branch County, 217 N. Fiske Rd. Coldwater, MI 49036. Envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis who have been entrusted with the arrangement
