Susan Helen “Susie” Brokaw, age 71, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022.
She was born March 10, 1951 in Flint, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen (DuPraw) Farney, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Eastern Michigan University.
Susie worked as a PE teacher at Pearsall School in Pearsall, Texas and at Gary Public School in Gary, Indiana.
On April 24, 1971, she married Terry Brokaw.
Susie attained the rank of supervisor in the Shaklee organization and loved camping with Terry and her family at the EAA Airventure airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Remaining to cherish Susie’s memory are her sons, Randy (Pei) Brokaw and Corey Brokaw; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brokaw; granddaughters, Chloe Hunter and JJ Brokaw; brothers, John and Dennis; sisters, Sally and Polly; and mother, Ellen.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Brokaw, on April 29, 2013; father, Thomas Farney Sr., on March 14, 2015; and brother, Thomas Farney II, on September 3, 2017.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine, at 20273 M-60, Three Rivers. RSVP to karlaandcrew@yahoo.com.
