Maxine Phyllis Wood, age 98, of Three Rivers, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Borgess Place in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 25, 1924 in Vicksburg, the daughter of Francis M. and Flossie M. (Mohney) Lance.
Maxine graduated from Three Rivers High School and then went on to Cosmetology School which led her to working as a Beautician in Constantine for many years. Later she also received her Certification as an Esthetician and she practiced in Kalamazoo.
She loved to cook (for others) and spend lots of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved to watch golf and dance. But her favorite was watching the Detroit Tigers (even though they aggravated her most of the time). Oh! and that glass of Wine.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nancy (Rodney) Beckwith and Debbie (Jerry) Jackson; Grandchildren: Brian Kinney, Stacy (Lesli) Bland-Moord, Tammy Kinney, Ryan Beckwith, Shannon (Angel) Wood, Lindsey (Brent) Wood, Great Grandchildren: Kylie Bland-Moord, Kelsey Bland-Moord, Madden Thompson, Ellie Thompson, Brelin Wood-Will & Qeenan Wood-Will; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her son, Raymond Lance Wood.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
