Man charged in attempted murder case

The suspect from a weekend shooting in Mendon has been arraigned.

Authorities said Terrell Lamont Reese was arraigned Tuesday and charged with three counts of attempted murder of a police officer and nine felony firearm-related charges.

Reese is being held on $2 million bond.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies responded around 9 p.m. Saturday to a location on Lane Street in response to a report of domestic violence.

Lillywhite said deputies were in the midst of interviewing the suspect when it appeared he reached for an object inside a safe toward the front of the residence. Deputies managed to evacuate occupants of the residence before the suspect began allegedly shooting at law-enforcement officials.

Lillywhite said authorities managed to take Reese into custody. He was treated for undisclosed injuries.
