James W. “Jimmy” Meyer, age 54, of Mottville, died unexpectedly, on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo following a short illness. He was born May 1, 1968 in South Bend, a son of Walter and Mary (Peacock) Meyer, Jr. Jimmy attended school at Elkhart Central High School. On December 31, 2016, he married Stephanie LaPlace in Indianapolis.
Jimmy worked at Nexus RV in Elkhart and previously for 35 years at Cover Masters, Coachmen and Forest River RV plants. He enjoyed drag racing, custom cars and motorcycles. Jimmy was always the life of the party and could make anyone laugh. He loved spending time with family and friends and wished to be “Uncle Jimmy” to everyone. For those who knew Jimmy, DumDum Ditty.
Surviving are his wife Stephanie Meyer, Elkhart, children Courtney (Shawn Qualls) Meyer, White Pigeon, Kennedy Meyer, Arizona, and James (Jasmine Shepperd) Meyer Elkhart, mother Mary Keller, White Pigeon, father Walter (Karla) Meyer Jr., grandchildren Zoey, Gavin, Julius, Pyper, Jennessa, and Joshua Buck and brother Walter (Katie) Meyer III, Breman.
He was preceded in death by his step father Jack Keller, and grandparents Walter and Leona Meyer.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no public services at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with expenses.
