Vivian L. Heltzel, age 92, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at New Care Adult Foster Care Home.
She was born Dec. 19, 1929 in Lansing, a daughter to the late William and Marcelta (Benjamin) Westra.
Vivian has been a resident of Sturgis since 1960, moving from the Constantine and Three Rivers area.
She had been employed at Continental Can in Three Rivers for 28 years and she retired from Sturgis Molded Products in 1995 after 11 years of employment.
Vivian enjoyed flowering, lawn work, and was a member of the Women of the Moose for over 30 years, and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son: Richard L. (Susan) Willis of Mottville; a granddaughter: Leslie Willis of Northville, MI; a great-grandson: Christopher A. Willis of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister: Virgie Johnson of Sturgis; a brother: Billy Westra of Zephyrhills, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father: Charles Givens, grandson: Chris Willis; 2 brothers: John and Fred Westra; and one sister:Vera Vorce.
The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral homes.
Services celebrating the life of Vivian L. Heltzel will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M., at the funeral home with Rev. Joshua Brueck, Sturgis Missionary Church, officiating.
Interment and graveside services will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Sturgis Missionary Church, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
