Frank Pierce, 74

Frank L. Pierce, age 74, of Centreville, died on Monday, January 2, 2023 at his home. He was born October 19, 1948 in Three Rivers, a son of Roy Edgar and E. Ruth (Smallcombe) Pierce. Frank graduated from Marcellus High School in 1966 and received three Associate Degrees from Glen Oaks Community College. He later studied mechanical engineering at Western Michigan University. Frank served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1969.

On February 14, 1987 Frank married Kathleen McNulty at the Methodist Church in Three Rivers. He was a member of Centreville United Methodist Church. Frank previously taught Sunday School and was on the Board of Directors at Historic St. Andrew Church in Panama City, FL.  He especially enjoyed sailing and loved the ocean.

Frank worked as a mechanical engineer, retiring from Eastern Ship Building in Panama City, FL.  He previously worked for several companies including Arinc Aeronautical Research/Booz Allen Hamilton, Merrick Industries, Lynn Haven, FL, L&T Machine Works, Centreville, Johnson Corporation and Armstrong International in Three Rivers.

Surviving are his wife Kathleen Pierce, Centreville; daughter Melissa (Roy) Schutts, Bronson; daughter Laurie Pierce, son Thomas Maxwell, West Carrolton, OH; daughter Haley Pierce, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Jesse, Justin (Jessica), Chase, James, Teagan, Jackson, Keagan, Madison; great grandchildren Ian and another on the way; sisters Leona, Eva and Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place A Memorial service will be held Saturday January 21st at 11:00 at Centreville United Methodist Church, 305 E. Main St., Centreville, MI.  Reverend Joyce Vanderlip will officiate.  Contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to Three Rivers Hospice.
