Roberta M. Saddison, age 99, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday morning, February 4, 2023 at Safe Haven Assisted Living in Three Rivers.
She was born November 8, 1923 in LaGrange County, daughter of the late Loney and Gladys (McMier) Combs.
Roberta resided in the Sturgis area most of her life with the exception of the 10 years she lived in Florida.
She was first married to Harvey Deam who preceded her in death. On June 28, 1975 she married Vernie Charles Saddison in Sturgis. He also preceded her in death.
Roberta retired from the Sturgis Public Schools following many years of dedicated service in the laundry room and later in food services and the cafeteria.
She was a longtime member of the St. Joseph County Extension and the Commission on Aging.
She enjoyed crafts, one stroke painting, and loved playing Bingo.
Mrs. Saddison is survived by her daughter-in-law: Kim Deam of Sturgis; son: Harvey (Judy) Deam, III of St. Joseph; daughter: Sally Deam of Three Rivers; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; step-son: Louis Saddison; step-daughter: Thelma Dillen; several step-grandchildren including Kristin Woods; sister-in-law: Beverly Combs of Ontario, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and son: David Scott Deam; stepdaughter: Sue Dearduff; stepson: Terry Lee Saddison; brothers: Dale Combs, Stanley Combs and Gail Combs and sister: Barbara Miller.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
